“FOOL US” with Penn and Teller
On Friday 7th January, Magic came back to primetime television with a one-off special, “FOOL US” with Las Vegas legends Penn and Teller. Some of the UK’s top magicians were invited to perform on this show in the hope of fooling Penn and Teller and if successful, the fortunate magician would have the distinct privilege of opening for Penn and Teller in the sell out show in Las Vegas.
I was invited to perform on this show in front of a live studio audience. For my performance piece, I decided to go back intime and resurrected the classic “Slapping The Aces” made famous by the late Nate Leipzig. This routine is much more than candy for the eyes; it represents the highest achievement in sleight of hand mastery, elegant deception and artistic delivery. I have been developing my interpretation of this classic effect for over thirty years and was very happy with my performance on this show. The audience response was most gratifying as were the heartfelt comments by Jonathan Ross and Penn and Teller.

Despite the fact that they claimed not to be fooled since it was “classic magic”, I believe that the audience probably shared my opinion that you were the best act there.
I hope they offer you a contract to play in their show anyway.
Kind Regards

Congratulations Michael, that was a PERFECT performance.
During the hole act you showed your perfect technique, and I don’t know how to describe the ending without repeat the word “perfect”.
That was a inspirational performance.
Thanks from Brazil.

Dear Michael, what an outstanding performance this was… splendid and passionate deception. I deeply hope to see you performing live in London this year.
With a sincere bow from Germany
